Our recommendation for the best time of year to book high-altitude resorts is March and April, when lower resorts may already be experiencing melt. These resorts enjoy bluebird skies, warmer temps, and fantastic powder totals.
How to prepare for high-altitude skiing?
Make sure you stay well-hydrated and avoid excessive alcohol consumption to limit altitude sickness.
Do people get altitude sickness when skiing?
Yes, some people can experience mild altitude sickness when going above 2,500m, but proper hydration and taking things nice and steady will help reduce the symptoms.
