The popularity of ski weekends and short ski breaks is surging and it's easy to see why.
Our most popular short ski holidays are four to five nights - they're short enough to save on annual leave and reduce costs, but long enough to still feel like you've got some decent ski miles in.

What are the best resorts for ski weekends and short ski breaks?
- Leysin in Switzerland is ideal if you're a beginner to intermediate skier. It's a small and traditional resort, and within striking distance of Lausanne and Geneva (both by car and train).
- Soll in Austria is perfect for the more advanced powder-hounds, with heaps of blue and red runs and quick transfer times, letting you maximise your time on the slopes.
- Chamonix in France and Courmayeur in Italy are fantastic for any off-piste fantatics and freeriders. They're quick to get to, with plenty of advanced runs and off-piste ski guides.
- La Clusaz, or Morzine in France, are perfect for groups of mixed abilities. They've got something for every level of skier, including bunny runs for the first-timers and plenty of off-piste for powder fiends and freeride heroes.

With so many European resorts just a short flight away, it’s still possible to get plenty of time on the slopes, even if you only go for a few days. Yes. A ski weekend is perfect for those with limited holiday time, a budget, or who are looking for a quick mountain escape. With a ski weekend, you can get a taste of skiing without committing a full week. Just ensure to choose a resort close to the airport and slopes to maximise your time effectively. How much does a weekend ski trip cost?
Ski weekends generally cost considerably less than a week away. A weekend’s skiing in Borovets can be as low as £230 - £250 per person for flights, accommodation, and transfers - even, in some cases, including breakfast or half board. However, it ultimately depends on the resort's location and the time of year.
Where can you go skiing for a weekend?
Chamonix, La Clusaz, Flaine, and Morzine are great picks for a France ski weekend, especially for beginners, thanks to their proximity to Geneva Airport and the slopes.
Courmayeur and Cortina make great ski weekends in Italy, thanks to their uncrowded pistes, which are ideal for intermediates and advanced skiers.

How can I maximise my time during weekend ski breaks?
Try these top tips to make the most of ski weekends:
- Find a resort with a short transfer time - Fewer hours spent travelling means more time to grab your gear, lift passes, and get on the slopes. If you fancy it, we can even book you a private transfer.
- Get an early flight out and late flight back - Arriving early and leaving late will help you max the amount of time you have on the slopes.
- Get accommodation close to the slopes/centre of the resort - An easy commute means less time getting to the first lifts and more time on the pistes. Ski-in/ski-out options are often ideal for this. Meanwhile, if your resort is located out of town and requires a bus, consider choosing a hotel on a bus route for reduced travel time.
What to pack for a ski weekend?

What size ski area is best for weekend ski trips?
It depends on your group, their abilities, and how much mileage they think they can cover. While it can seem tempting to book a larger resort, more often than not, the limited time a skiing weekend gives you means you're not getting your money's worth. We suggest choosing a resort that's big enough for everyone to have plenty to explore without feeling the post-holiday envy of having missed out on popular areas. What board basis would you recommend for ski weekends?
We believe nothing beats a good B&B for short ski holidays. Enjoying a hot cooked brekkie that you haven’t had to prepare yourself takes a bit of stress out of the morning, but still allows you to grab food on-the-go when you’re on the slopes.
How quickly can I collect my ski pass and equipment?
Depending on how late you arrive, you should be able to grab everything you've ordered as soon as you arrive. This is especially useful for early afternoon arrivals, as it means you can secure everything you need to hit the first lifts the very next day. But never panic. If the lift pass office and ski hire stores are closed when you arrive, you'll find they often open earlier than the first lifts.
Can I leave my luggage in the hotel before check-in/after check-out?
